Empowering Future Nation Builders: NCST Equips Graduating Students for Career and Global Opportunities

March 27, 2026 – Dasmariñas, Cavite

The National College of Science & Technology (NCST), through its Internship Training & Jobs Placement Office, successfully conducted a comprehensive career readiness seminar on March 26, 2026, at the NCST Gymnasium. The initiative gathered graduating students from various academic programs, all united by one goal – to become fully prepared, competent, and confident as they step into the professional world as future Nation Builders.

A Step Toward Career Readiness

Transitioning from student life to professional employment is a crucial milestone, and NCST continues to ensure that its graduates are not only academically equipped but also industry-ready. The seminar served as a bridge between education and employment, offering students practical knowledge, real-world insights, and guidance from government agencies directly involved in workforce development.

The morning session, led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), featured the Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) program. This session provided essential discussions on employee rights, labor laws, workplace ethics, and current labor market trends. Students gained a deeper understanding of how to navigate employment conditions, empowering them to make informed career decisions.

Understanding the Labor Market and Workplace Realities

Beyond basic employment knowledge, the session also tackled the realities of today’s competitive job market. Students were oriented on in-demand skills, employer expectations, and how to align their competencies with industry needs. This allowed participants to reflect on their readiness and identify areas for personal and professional growth.
The activity emphasized the importance of adaptability, communication skills, and professionalism – qualities that define successful individuals in any field.

Opening Doors to Global Opportunities

The afternoon session was facilitated by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), focusing on the Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS). This segment was particularly valuable
for students considering international career paths.

Key topics included legal deployment processes, documentation requirements, cultural preparedness, and the rights and welfare of overseas Filipino workers. The session also highlighted the risks of illegal recruitment and reinforced the importance of securing employment through legitimate and government-accredited channels.
By providing these insights, NCST ensures that its graduates are not only locally competitive but also globally aware and protected.

Fostering Professionalism and Confidence

One of the highlights of the event was the requirement for students to attend in business attire, creating an atmosphere that closely reflects professional environments. This simple yet impactful detail encouraged students to embody confidence, discipline, and readiness – traits essential in their future careers.

The seminar also became a platform for students to engage, ask questions, and gain clarity about their career paths. It strengthened their mindset, helping them transition from learners into future professionals who are ready to take on responsibilities beyond the classroom.
NCST’s Commitment to Nation Building

Through initiatives like this, NCST reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who are not only skilled but also socially aware and responsible. The institution continues to collaborate with key government agencies to provide meaningful programs that enhance student development and employability.

As these graduating students move forward, they carry with them not only the knowledge gained from their academic journey but also the values, discipline, and readiness instilled through experiences like this seminar.

Indeed, the future is in capable hands – as NCST molds individuals who are ready to lead, serve, and make a difference as true Nation Builders.
