Dasmariñas, Cavite — In support of the nationwide observance of Fire Prevention Month 2026, the National College of Science and Technology (NCST) conducted a Fire Safety Seminar aimed at strengthening fire awareness, emergency preparedness, and campus safety among employees and institutional representatives.

The seminar was spearheaded by the Office of Safety and Security, headed by Mr. Kervin C. Maragat, in coordination with the Human Resource Office led by Ms. Jazielyn M. Diaz, and with the support of Campus Manager Ms. Carolina P. Baylen.

The activity forms part of the institution’s ongoing commitment to promoting a safe, secure, and disaster-prepared academic environment for the entire NCST community.

Strengthening Fire Safety Awareness in the Campus Community

During the seminar, participants were oriented on essential fire prevention practices and emergency response procedures to ensure that employees and personnel are prepared to respond effectively in the event of fire-related incidents.

Key topics discussed during the seminar included:

1. Basic principles of fire prevention and fire safety awareness
2. Identification of common workplace fire hazards
3. Proper handling and use of fire extinguishers
4. Emergency evacuation procedures and response coordination
5. Safety responsibilities of employees during emergency situations

The seminar emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and vigilance in preventing fire incidents and ensuring the safety of the campus community.
