The National College of Science and Technology successfully conducted the TES Batch 15 Orientation for Academic Year 2024–2025 on May 12–13, 2026, at the NCST Multi-purpose Hall. The two-day activity gathered newly qualified TES Batch 15 grantees from various academic programs, serving as a formal onboarding and information session under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) program.
The orientation was conducted to ensure that all TES beneficiaries are fully informed about program policies, documentary requirements, compliance procedures, and institutional guidelines. It also provided a structured discussion on student responsibilities as TES grantees, including proper coordination with concerned offices and adherence to submission processes and requirements.
On Day 1 and Day 2 of the orientation, the sessions were facilitated by Ms. Erbeth Alvaran, Scholarship Coordinator from the Office of the President, and Ms. Joanna Matencio from the Office of the President. Both facilitators discussed the comprehensive overview of the TES Program, including eligibility requirements, documentary submissions, validation processes, and key reminders for proper compliance and continuous qualification as TES beneficiaries.
They emphasized the importance of accuracy in submitted documents, adherence to institutional procedures, and timely coordination with the concerned offices to avoid delays in processing. Students were also reminded to regularly check official announcements and maintain responsibility in managing their requirements throughout the academic year.
The NCST Cashier Department also actively participated in the orientation by assisting the grantees and addressing their concerns related to financial and processing matters. Ms. Ann Cartagena and Ms. Jehee Singcay were present during the session to provide guidance and support, helping ensure a smoother and more organized coordination process for the students.
Throughout the two-day orientation, TES Batch 15 students actively engaged in discussions by raising questions and clarifications regarding TES requirements, validation concerns, and program implementation. This helped strengthen their understanding of proper procedures and responsibilities as TES grantees.
The NCST Multi-purpose Hall served as a productive venue for learning and engagement, fostering meaningful coordination between students, facilitators, and administrative staff. The orientation successfully reinforced the importance of discipline, accountability, and proper institutional coordination in the effective implementation of the TES Program.
Overall, the activity highlighted NCST’s continued commitment to supporting students through accessible education assistance programs and structured academic guidance. Through initiatives like this, TES beneficiaries are equipped with the necessary knowledge and preparedness to successfully navigate their academic journey.
The successful conduct of the TES Batch 15 Orientation reflects the institution’s dedication to student support and efficient implementation of government scholarship programs.
NCST extends its gratitude to Ms. Erbeth Alvaran and Ms. Joanna Matencio from the Office of the President, Ms. Ann Cartagena and Ms. Jehee Singcay from the Cashier Department, along with other staff members and participating TES Batch 15 students for their active involvement, cooperation, and contribution to the success of the two-day orientation program.
